You are never too old for pancakes, so why not try this healthy alternative which has all your favourite breakfast ingredients combined into a delicious patty. A breakfast jam packed with fibre, anti-oxidants, energy and is low GI (meaning it will make you feel fuller for longer and release energy slowly throughout the day). These really satisfied my grumbling stomach on a wintery morning and left me feeling full for majority of the day! Serve warm with your favourite toppings, I can recommend the honey, banana, cinnamon, natural yoghurt combo as above. Yummo!
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup wholemeal flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- coconut oil for cookingIn a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Lightly grease a frying pan with coconut oil. Once pan is hot, spoon 1/4 cup of mixture onto the frying pain and flatten out the batter to desired thickness. Cook for 1 minute, or until small bubbles appear on the surface. Flip the pancake and cook the other side. The cooked surface should be slightly golden.Serve with slices of banana, natural yoghurt, and a drizzle of honey.
Felt so good to do yoga today. The cat stared at me the whole time :-)
"Boy, these conservatives are really something, aren’t they? They’re all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn. But once you’re born, you’re on your own. Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months. After that, they don’t want to know about you. They don’t want to hear from you. No nothing. No neonatal care, no day care, no head start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you’re preborn, you’re fine; if you’re preschool, you’re fucked." ~ George Carlin
I’m sorry, but what kind of body do you need to have to do yoga? Oh that’s right, if you have a body, you have the perfect body for yoga.
if you wanted to come across as body positive it would have been nice if you also chose various types of bodies
Given that this post is part of a 4-part series titled “Curvy Yogi Appreciation,” you totally missed the point…
And as far as your tag about treating thin people like they ‘don’t count’ and having a thin body is a ‘crime’… No. Just no. The vast majority of posts featuring people doing yoga on this site and everywhere else are of people with stereotypically thin, toned bodies. You see it everywhere. There is absolutely no issue of underrepresentation of thin bodies in yoga. But there is absolutely a lack of representation of curvy bodies, Fat bodies, plus size bodies, or bodies that otherwise do not fit the very narrow mold we see represented everywhere else.
There is nothing wrong with having a thin body. I created these posts, and I am, by most standards, pretty slender. But I don’t need to see my body type represented in any more photos. I wanted to celebrate and appreciate the awesome bodies of the yogis everyone seems to overlook/ignore. If you want to see more thin bodies in yoga poses, just go to the yoga tag. I assure you there is no shortage of such photos there.
